What Ages & Stages Training entails.

What your training will include:

Younger Children (Ages 8–12) Preparatory education

  • Theories of children’s learning at this stage

  • Theories of emotional development. Children have been through challenges in their early years during covid and this has left some needing additional support

  • Creating a comforting and structured environment

  • Supporting emotional adjustment and homesickness

  • Engaging in age appropriate communication and activities

  • Understanding safeguarding and boundaries in younger age groups

Teens and Early Adolescents (Ages 13–16) – Secondary education

  • Supporting social and emotional development during adolescence.

  • Personal hygiene

  • Money management

  • Encouraging positive study habits and school engagement

  • Managing increased independence while maintaining boundaries

  • Identifying and addressing early signs of stress, anxiety or mental ill health

  • Conversation around careers

Older Teens (Ages 16–18) – Sixth form

  • Personal, social and emotional development, friendships, taking responsibility and making good choices

  • Foster readiness for higher education or independent living, personal, social and emotional support

  • Respect personal space while offering emotional support

  • Guide on practical matters such as time management, wellbeing, and goal setting

  • Support critical transitions such as with exams, university applications and future planning.

  • Conversation around careers
